THE 12th studio album by Eminem is due out in a few months. Titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace), the rapper announced the album before appearing on the NFL Draft.

Afterwards, a trailer for the album was released, showing a true crime reporter discussing the death of Eminem’s alter ego Slim Shady.

“Through his complex and oft-criticised, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,” he says.

Eminem’s longtime associate 50 Cent is then shown in a cameo, saying: “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath”.

“The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady,” the reporter responds.

Since 1997’s Slim Shady EP, Eminem has used the Slim Shady persona as an avenue to deliver controversially aggressive and violent lyrics that are on the other extreme end to his usual stage persona.

Eminem’s last album was Music to Be Murdered By. Released over four years ago, the album was a success, securing top spot on the Billboard 200, with its Godzilla single peaking at third place on the Hot 100.
